SOKAIRE RESIDENCIES

ESPAZIOA

In order to support the research and development of projects in the process of creation in the field of dance or movement arts, MUTIS ESPAZIOA opens the call aimed at welcoming and accompanying creators and companies that consider the body and movement as a central tool in their artistic project. or want to develop a choreographic creation work.

Call for applications 2025

Send

Project dossier, motivation letter, biography containing ages and places of residence of the company or applicant, where previous works are reflected to: mutisespazioa@gmail.com​

Deadline

In principle, this is always an open call. Reservations are made according to the availability of spaces and the artistic interest of the projects. Even so, applications received before March 23th are the most likely to have a chance of a residency in 2025, the rest will probably have to wait until the following year.

Conditions

Space for residency, fees of 500€/1.000€, travel allowance and specialized artistic support.

Dossier

Containing: title of the work, synopsis or first intentions, images, questions you plan to work on. How many people make up the team and the dates you prefer (the residency is two weeks), also detail the nature of the residency: if it is part of the process of creation/rehearsals of a specific piece (if so, at what stage of the process is it: initial approaches, deepening in some aspect, final stage...), research without looking for results for the exhibition, laboratory (opening the process to other participants).

​Important note: The conditions of these residencies (especially the economic ones) depend directly on the grants received from the different organizations to which they are applied for. As these grants may vary from one year to another, Mutis and the person or company in residence will agree, always before the beginning of the residency, on the specific conditions under which it will finally be developed.

LINES AND RULES

Line 1. SOKAIRE
New companies and emerging creators.

Access: by permanent call and selection based on dossier.
Duration: 2 weeks.
Endowment:

  • Specialized artistic support.

  • 150m space for rehearsal and physical practice

  • Free access to open classes and training sessions during the residency period

  • Office space or table work.

  • Kitchen space and rest area.

  • Dressing room and bathroom.

  • Travel allowance (assistance for travel and accommodation)​


Fees: 500,00€ and Travel Allowance of 300,00€ per project.
To be submitted: Final report. It is up to each artist to share something from the process in a public session; whether it be an open rehearsal, feedback session, process showcase, final piece presentation, etc.

Line 2. SOKA
Consolidated companies and creators.

Access: by permanent call and personal invitation.
Duration: 2 weeks.
Endowment:

  • Specialized artistic support.

  • 150m space for rehearsal and physical practice

  • Free access to open classes and training sessions during the residency period

  • Office space or table work.

  • Kitchen space and rest area.

  • Dressing room and bathroom.

  • Travel allowance (assistance for travel and accommodation)

Fees: 1.000,00€ and Travel Allowance of 300,00€ per project
To be delivered: Final report. It is up to each artist to share something from the process in a public session; whether it be an open rehearsal, feedback session, process showcase, final piece presentation, etc.
