Chey Jurado
Chey Jurado began as a self-taught Breakin and Poppin dancer in 2005. Influenced by his father, a dancer in the early days of Hip Hop culture in Spain (1984) he started dancing with a group of friends that they named "ElectroduendesCrew&".
Over the years, and already professionally, gets numerous titles of influential international platforms such as Redbull BC ONE, Juste Debout, Battle Of The Year, Open Your Mind, Redbull Dance Your Style, WGTF?, I Love This Dance...
In the field of performing arts he has collaborated with companies and choreographers such as, La Veronal, Roberto Olivan, Elias Aguirre, Dani Pannulo, Lokomamia, Cia Malditas Lagartijas, Jordi Vilaseca, Antonio Carmona, Roy Ofer, Rojas & Rodriguez, Taiat Dansa, Perfordance, and currently with the Belgian company Pepping Tom.
In mid-2016 he debuts as director and choreographer creating his own dance work AGUA in collaboration with Rotativa Performing Arts distribution, awarded in contemporary dance competitions such as, Más Danza, Burgos&NuevaYork, 10 Sentidos, Hop festival, M1 Contact...
Which facilitated the visibility of his work by festivals around the world. Recently and already as a consolidated company has a catalog of own works in the company of Patty Hinchado as cultural manager, RAÍZ his second solo, POR PARTE DE MARE with guitarist Antonia Jiménez, MAREA WEEKEND his latest work and still in process, and two other works in collaboration HITO with Akira Yoshida, and SAMSARA with Javito Mario. He combines this physical and scenic background with teaching, OPPOSITE SIDE is the name of the research that he proposes in workshop format and that he teaches at festivals around the world.
He recently received the Ojo Crítico 2022 award from RTVE.
