Poliana Lima
Poliana Lima (1983) is a choreographer and dancer based in Madrid.
She was selected for partake in Aerowaves 2021 with the piece Las cosas se movin pero no say nada, co-produced by Teatros del Canal, Madrid Festival Dias de Dança, Porto and Center National de la Danse / Pantin in Paris. She is an associate artist at Conde Duque Madrid between 2018/2020 and collaborator of the Canal Choreographic Center.
She was the winner of the Madrid Choreographic Contest in 2014 with her first Atavistic ensemble.
As a teacher, Poliana Lima has been teaching regular contemporary dance classes in private studios in Madrid for over a decade, ranging from advanced professional training to initiation classes for adults without any previous experience.
Poliana has collaborated with women's associations and two years ago began an audience development practice linked to her choreographic production. Between 2018 and 2019 she gave intergenerational workshops linked to her choreographic project “Here, Always” in institutions such as Centro de Danza Canal and Conde Duque, both in Madrid.
In 2021, accompanying her research process for upcoming choreographic projects, Poliana has begun to develop a series of new laboratories and workshops around the concepts of body, identity and racialization.
Another aspect of her practice is artistic accompaniment and dramaturgy for the creation processes of emerging artists such as Lucia Marote, Natalia Fernandes, Miguel Ballarin and the Colectivo La imperfecta of Alberto Alonso and Clara Pampyn.
