Cristiane Boullosa

Choreographer, Dancer and Pedagogue.

 

She began her training and professional career in Brazil where she obtained a degree in Dance from the Federal University of Bahia. Her training is influenced by the study of classical ballet, American Modern Dance techniques (Graham, Limon, Horton, Cunningham), by the German Expressionism schools (dance-theater, gesture language), improvisation techniques, contact improvisation and complementary form manual therapies and training in Shiatsu.


In 1992 she settled in the north of Spain, getting involved in various activities within dance related to pedagogy, scenic creation, research and the promotion of professionalization: Together with Olga Cameselle she created the Cia Dobre Xiro and the Ailala Association for the promotion of performing Arts; she is a founding member of the Association of Dance Professionals of Galicia; together with Olga Cameselles, Cristina Dominguez and Alfredo Rodriguez she opened the “A Artística” center for the teaching and research of dance and theater (Vigo); she collaborates with the IGAEM for the creation of the dance circuit in Galicia.


In 2001 she moved to Madrid where he worked closely with Cía. Rayo Malayo by Francesc Bravo as choreographer and dancer. Since 2008 she directs the Cía. Omos Uno where she uses improvisation and composition in real time as a means and an end for her stage proposals.


As a pedagogue, she has been teaching regular dance classes for 34 years in official Conservatories, Universities, Private Schools, Festivals and workshops for Theater and Dance groups.


In 2013 she created the EspacioFCI pedagogical project with the aim of offering Dance Training from the Contact Improvisation Dance technique www.espaciofci.com


Her pedagogical and creative work has traveled throughout the Spain as well as Brazil, Morocco, Panama, Colombia, Sweden, Germany, Portugal.
