HACER Y MOVER

Imparted by

As Patti Smith said in her documentary “Dreams of Live”
and which resonates so deeply with me:

My mission is to communicate,
to wake people up,
to give them my energy and accept theirs.
We´re all in it together,
and I respond emotionally as a worker,
a mother, an artist, and a human being with a voice.

We all have a voice.

We have the responsibility to exercise it, to use it.

In this workshop, I am keen to share the practice I have developed as a dancer and performer over the years, through my own creations and collaborations with artists from other disciplines, such as music, fashion and film.

I understand the body as an archaeological site, a container for other bodies, and movement as the tool we use to unearth its deepest layers. The method I have used for this research is guided improvisation from different perspectives. I propose a process of excavation using different physicalities to explore the materials that make it up: bones, muscles, fascia, substances, imaginaries, sounds, ideas, beliefs, emotions, sensations and all embodied wisdom. We will work on the gaze, pausing, listening, and the voice as an invisible limb, understanding the independence of the joints and their connections. We will explore the body as a resonance chamber and its capacity to create fiction, expand and reinvent itself. To delve into this work more consciously, we will focus on four bodies: physical, energetic, emotional and sonic. Through play, we will break patterns and open up new possibilities that invite us to create other laws that respond to our needs and interests.

The main aim of this workshop is to awaken the need to discover, explore, enjoy and take risks without the fear of making mistakes or failing. To approach greater knowledge with humility. To listen to that inner voice that brings us closer to who we are, beyond what we believe ourselves to be, and to become a channel. An introspective journey to grow and open up, to inhabit the not-knowing what we know without fear.

Aimed at: Dancers, performers, people interested in creation and the movement arts.
