"Beyond the virtuosity and form of the dance,
I am interested in the search for content and
authenticity; underlining the greatness of the smallest gestures and the firmness of the most delicate movements.
I am attracted, above all, to make contemporary dance a more
approachable and human discipline; the idea of seeing people on stage. That is why I insist on investigating what happens to the dancer when he/she doesn't have to dance, what/who hides behind the choreography and takes care of the scenes of more stillness and silence."
We are constantly communicating with each other and with our surroundings, both in the repetitive comings and goings as well as in the waiting and the interstices. Along the way there are questions, choices, bodily states and actions. Not to mention, the continuous
transformations, adaptations and constructions that occur meanwhile. There are multiple decisions... Because the possibilities are not one or two, but three.
As if it were a series, the latest works of the company are rooted around the same main idea: the need to communicate/to be communicated. This laboratory proposal aims to deepen the need to look and listen in the effort to build this communication. Taking into account space, time and bodies as the fundamental pillars for the work, and with the desire to investigate the relationships that may arise between them, different proposals, patterns of actions, displays and/or improvisations will be proposed.
In this state we will delve into ideas such as the now-the here-attention, the minimum distance of care and still life-landscapes. Besides using sound, text and images we will nourish creativity and movement.
