Edward Tamayo

Born in Mesitas del Colegio (Colombia), he is co-director and founder of the dance company LaCerda, based in Barcelona (Spain). LaCerda, based in Barcelona (Spain). With this company he has directed, performed and created the pieces TanGo, Un Solo Ciego, Warm Up, Paiopony and Flornecia, presented in various different venues, among them the International Performance Festival PAD in Mainz (Germany), PUF Festival (Germany), PUF Festival of Pula (Croatia) and the Certámen Coreográfico de Madrid (Spain).


Recently, the solo Flornecia has been represented at the 5th Anniversary Celebration of the TIC TAC Art Center in Brussels and at the Trópico Infierno festival in Bogota. Edward has directed LaCerda´s latest creation: El Baile de la Zurda, a tribute to the dance and Latin American roots of the company directors, which has been presented in a street version at Spanish festivals of the Acieloabierto Network, such as the Trayectos Festival of Zaragoza, the international Zaragoza, the MASDANZA International Festival in the Canary Islands and the FAM in Tenerife. The long was premiered at the Sant Andreu Teatre in Barcelona.


As a performer, he has collaborated with Violeta Iriberri (Spain) in the piece Mala Hierba; Other Side (France) in the piece Side (France) in the piece Cuatropuntos and Dosson Danza (Colombia), in the piece Chulos.


As a teacher, she has taught workshops of Fliying Low and Passing Trough after years of training with David Zambrano and having years of training with David Zambrano and having worked as an assistant.
